Opplopolis

August 20, 2012 12:04 pm

It has been one year since the end of NPWIL.  Time for something new.

Here is our new series: Opplopolis.  It's an online graphic novel charting the adventures of a diverse group of people searching for the meaning of a word that sounds like a brand of toothpaste.  Expect new episodes every Monday and Friday at noon EST.

In conjunction with the new series, there will be a lot of changes to the website.  In a couple of weeks, you might not even recognize the place.  Don't worry, NPWIL will always be here for you to re-read.

Speaking of, you might be curious as to the status of the printed edition.  Well, it seems that assembling printable copies of comics spanning eight years which were never meant for print has turned out to be a bit more of an archeological task than I anticipated.  I decided that it was better to devote my time to producing new content.  Perhaps as more attention is paid to the new series the demand for a NPWIL book will return enough to make the investment worthwhile.

To that end, those of you who are seeing this message, please be sure to spread the word about the new comic.  Expect more big announcements soon.

  2. Fixed. Feels weird messing with code I haven't touched in six years!

  4. About that NPWIL book... when is it coming out? I hear kickstarter is popular these days...

  5. Will Opplopolis be syndicated in your site RSS feed? I don't see the existing pages there.

  7. Tim, I uploaded the first three episodes at the same time, so that's why you didn't see individual updates. You'll should see all the future updates as normal.

  8. Ewyx, I've thought about kickstarter, but I need to rebuild some goodwill before that's possible. If I leave bohemiandrive fallow, when I do get the book ready, no one will remember it. Hopefully I can bring in some new readers, drum up interest, and have the customer base to make a really nice product. I don't want to just convert all the RGB art to muddy CMYK and push it out the door.

But to do that, I have to reclaim my webspace and keep putting out some fresh stuff. I'll keep you posted, don't worry.

  11. You find merchandising more worth your efforts than making a print edition. Consider t-shirts!
